How plastering costs are estimated
Plastering cost is priced per square metre and depends mainly on the type of job: a skim coat over sound existing plaster is the cheapest option; plasterboarding and skimming a wall or stud partition costs more for the extra materials and labour; rendering an external wall costs the most. Ceilings get a 15% area uplift because working overhead is slower and more awkward than walls. We then apply a minimum charge of £120 per room, since most plasterers won't travel out for a job smaller than that regardless of area.
