Porch Cost Calculator

Estimate the cost of building a new porch — uPVC, brick or hardwood timber — by floor area, with base, door and electrics add-ons and a typical price range.

Estimate only. This is an indicative estimate, not a quote — always get quotes from local builders before committing to a project. Prices vary by region, ground conditions and finish quality, and larger porches may need planning permission or building regulations approval.

How porch costs are estimated

A porch's cost is driven mainly by its construction type: uPVC is the cheapest off-the-shelf option and quickest to install; hardwood timber sits in the middle and gives a more traditional look; brick is the most substantial build and, above a certain size, may need planning permission. We multiply an indicative supply-and-fit rate per square metre by your porch's floor area, then add flat allowances for base and foundation work, a part-glazed front door, and electrics for lighting and a socket where you choose to include them. Because ground conditions, access and finish quality vary from job to job, we show a typical range (±15%) alongside the headline estimate — always get quotes from local builders before committing to a project.
