Terms of Use
Last updated: 8 July 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing and using CalcBritain (“the Site”, “we”, “us”, “our”) at calcbritain.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
2. Calculators are for information only — not financial or tax advice
The calculators, tools, and content provided on CalcBritain are for general information and illustrative purposes only. They do not constitute:
- Financial advice;
- Tax advice;
- Legal advice; or
- Any form of professional or regulated advice.
Nothing on this Site should be relied upon as a substitute for professional advice tailored to your specific circumstances. Before making any financial, tax, or investment decision, you should consult a suitably qualified adviser such as a chartered accountant, independent financial adviser, or solicitor.
3. Accuracy and estimates
We strive to keep our calculators accurate and up to date with HMRC rules, Revenue Scotland rates, and the Welsh Revenue Authority (WRA) rates for the 2026/27 and 2025/26 tax years. However:
- Figures produced by our calculators are estimates. Your actual tax position may differ due to individual circumstances not captured by the calculator inputs (for example, non-standard tax codes, employment benefits, additional income, carry-forward allowances, or mid-year changes).
- Tax rates, thresholds, and rules change. Although we update the Site at each tax year, we cannot guarantee that every change has been reflected immediately.
- You should always verify figures with HMRC directly (gov.uk/hmrc) or with a qualified tax adviser before relying on them for any purpose.
4. No warranty
The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without any warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CalcBritain and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from:
- Your use of, or inability to use, the Site or any calculator;
- Any reliance on figures or information provided by the Site;
- Any error, omission, or inaccuracy in the calculators or content;
- Any tax, financial, or other loss arising from decisions made based on estimates produced by the Site.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
6. Intellectual property
All content on the Site, including but not limited to text, calculator logic, design, and code, is owned by or licensed to CalcBritain and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or commercially exploit any content from the Site without our prior written consent.
Tax rates and thresholds are sourced from publicly available government publications (gov.uk, Revenue Scotland, WRA) and are not subject to copyright.
7. Third-party links
The Site may link to third-party websites (for example, HMRC, government guidance, or external resources). These links are provided for convenience only. We have no control over those sites and accept no responsibility for their content, privacy practices, or availability.
8. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
