How the countdown is calculated
We count the exact number of days between your base date (today by default, or an earlier or later date you set under "More options") and your target date, then convert that into weeks, hours and a calendar-accurate months/weeks/days breakdown. If the target date has already passed, we show how many days ago it was instead. We also count the working days (Monday to Friday) between the two dates, with an option to exclude UK bank holidays for England & Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland — useful for deadlines and delivery estimates, since Scotland and Northern Ireland observe some different bank holidays to England and Wales.
