Broadband Cost Calculator

Work out the total cost of a broadband contract — monthly price, setup fee and any mid-contract price rise — plus the true effective monthly average across the whole deal.

Estimate only. This is an estimate — broadband prices and mid-contract rises vary by provider, verify with your supplier/Ofcom.

How broadband contract cost is calculated

We add up every monthly payment across the full contract length and then add any one-off upfront or setup fee. Most UK broadband providers apply an annual mid-contract price rise — often each April, linked to inflation (CPI) plus an extra percentage — which increases the monthly price from that point on for the rest of the contract. If you enter a price rise, we apply it once for every 12 months of the contract (an approximation of an April increase, since we don't ask for your exact start date). Dividing the total contract cost by the number of months gives the effective monthly average, which is usually higher than the advertised "from" price once setup fees and rises are included.
