Wallpaper Rolls Calculator
Work out how many rolls of wallpaper you need for a room from its wall perimeter or dimensions, allowing for openings and your paper's pattern repeat.
Estimate only. This is an indicative estimate, not a quote. Roll coverage and pattern repeats vary by wallpaper — check the manufacturer's guidance before ordering.

How wallpaper rolls are estimated
A standard UK wallpaper roll is 10 metres long and 53cm wide, giving around 5m² of usable pasted area once you allow for trimming at the ceiling and skirting. We take your wall perimeter — either entered directly or worked out from a room's length and width — and multiply by the wall height to get the gross wall area, then deduct an openings allowance for doors and windows (10% is a reasonable default for an average room). Patterned papers need extra: a straight-match pattern typically needs around 10% more paper to keep the repeat aligned across drops, and a half-drop pattern (where the repeat is offset on alternate drops) typically needs around 15% more. The final area is divided by 5m² per roll and rounded up to a whole roll — always add one spare roll from the same batch, since dye lots can vary slightly between production runs.
