How kitchen costs are estimated
A new kitchen's cost is driven mainly by the units, budget, mid-range or premium, and small, medium or large, plus the worktop, priced per metre of run length and ranging from laminate at the cheap end to natural stone at the top. On top of that, most kitchens need new appliances, professional fitting, and an allowance for tiling, flooring, plumbing and electrical work to connect everything up. Because kitchen companies price very differently and layouts vary in complexity, this calculator shows a likely range (±15%) alongside the headline estimate, always get quotes from a few fitted kitchen suppliers before you commit to a budget.
