How the switching saving is worked out
Your current smoking cost is worked out the same way as our Smoking Cost Calculator — cigarettes or packs per day, at your price per pack, over a full year. Vaping cost depends on the style: disposables are a flat daily price, while a refillable kit has a one-off kit cost plus an ongoing cost for liquid and coils, typically £320-£840 a year. The annual saving compares the two running costs; a separate year-1 figure also accounts for the one-off kit price if you choose refillable. Typical UK savings switching from smoking to vaping run £2,600-£4,500 a year — though quitting nicotine altogether, with free NHS support, saves the most of all.
