Packaged Bank Account Calculator

Fee-paying "packaged" current accounts bundle in perks like AA breakdown cover, worldwide travel insurance and mobile phone cover. Enter the monthly fee and what those perks would cost you to buy separately, and see whether the bundle actually saves you money.

Estimate only. This is a simple cost comparison based on the figures you enter — it doesn't account for differences in cover quality, excess, claim limits or account interest/perks not listed here. Compare the actual policy documents before deciding, and check the account's terms for any minimum-deposit condition.

Enter the account's monthly fee

Add the monthly fee, then tick the perks you'd actually buy separately to see if the bundle is worth it.

Before you keep (or ditch) a packaged account

  • Only count perks you'd genuinely buy anyway — free airport lounge access is worthless if you never fly, and duplicate cover (e.g. if you already have travel insurance via a credit card) shouldn't be counted twice.
  • Check the excess and cover limits on the bundled insurance against a standalone policy — packaged cover is sometimes thinner (lower single-item limits, older-traveller age caps, or pre-existing medical condition exclusions).
  • Packaged accounts often require a minimum monthly deposit to avoid the fee, or to keep the perks active — check the terms, not just the headline fee.
  • If you're only using one or two of the perks, buying those individually — or switching to a fee-free account — is usually cheaper than paying for a full bundle.
