- Monthly (average)
- £2,438
- Annual
- £29,250
- Overtime premium
- £31.25
The overtime premium is the extra you earn purely from the multiplier — what your overtime hours pay above your normal rate.
How overtime pay is calculated
Your regular pay is your base hourly rate multiplied by your regular hours. Overtime pay is your base rate multiplied by your overtime multiplier (commonly 1.25x, 1.5x or 2x) and your overtime hours. Add the two together for your weekly total, then multiply by 52 weeks for an annual figure, or divide the annual figure by 12 for a monthly average. Not every employer pays overtime at these multipliers — check your contract or ask your employer what applies to you.
