By law, workers are entitled to at least 5.6 weeks' paid holiday a year, capped at 28 days for a standard 5-day week. This is the statutory floor for the working pattern you've entered.

How pro-rata holiday entitlement works

Full-time UK workers are entitled to a minimum of 5.6 weeks' paid holiday a year — capped at 28 days for someone working a standard 5-day week. Part-time workers get the same entitlement pro-rata, based on how much of a full working week they do. If you know your days worked per week, multiply your employer's full-time day allowance by (days worked ÷ 5). If you work irregular or part-time hours instead, multiply the full-time allowance by (your hours ÷ full-time hours). Always round UP, never down — an employer can be more generous than the statutory minimum, but never less.
